During my childhood I grew up in my father’s Glasmuseum in Diever (the Netherlands). He started this museum in 1979 and his hot glass studio in 1985. So as a son of Glass Artist Cees van Olst (1947-2014) I started working as an apprentice in his studio from early age on.
In later years we worked together from 1995 until 2000 in his Glasmuseum that moved to Hoogeveen. In the years after that I mainly focussed on drumming and music, incidentally I picked up the blowpipe in various studio's. But more recently I really had the urge to go back to the material I grew up with.
Since all the work I made in the early days is sold I challenge myself with the making of a new collection. In the studio of Glasmuseum Leerdam I have the opportunity to work with some of Holland's greatest Glass artists. My current work is sold there as well.
